The Cool-Mom Pants
How did Donni — "it's like Martha Stewart meets The Row" — get everywhere? I got the answer for The Cut.

When wardrobe stylist Elyse Winter became a mom, her own fashion priorities shifted dramatically. Enter Donni — a brand that has perfectly wedged itself into the lives of young mothers desperately seeking comfort, without having to compromise on chicness. The vibe is very much: I’m stylish, but I can also collapse a double stroller in 20 seconds flat, with a dreamy, real-world aesthetic that feels lifted right off your Instagram feed. Suddenly, Donni (and its iconic Rib Kick Flare pants) has become the go-to label for those looking to toss on something cool (but also easy) while sprinting out the door for school drop-off or chasing your 3-year-old across a jungle gym at the park.
Designed with relaxed silhouettes and upscale fabrics, Donni’s pieces strike the perfect balance between comfortable and elevated. They're the kind of clothes that make you feel put-together, even if you’re just dodging toddler meltdowns in line at the grocery store. As Elyse and a growing legion of moms would agree, the brand's warmth and authenticity — think spontaneous wine nights and quick mirror selfies — resonates deeply with the “cool mom” psychographic. For them, Donni is not just a label; it’s a lifeline for moms navigating their new realities.
In a new piece for The Cut, I dove into the community that has formed around the brand, where women share not just style tips, but also the little joys and struggles of motherhood. You can read it in full here.
Hope you enjoy!
I’ve been eye Donni track pants for over a year. This article finally made me purchase (hope they fit!). It resonated so much about the season on mom life that I’m in. I’m throwing close on without thinking, not looking in the mirror, and sticking to comfy (trendy) basics. I think these pants will elevate that look a bit from the green adidas track pants I’ve been wearing (that are cool but way too long on my 5’3 frame) and since I live in a warm climate, truly believe quality linen is the move over fast fashion linen. (My Deiji set has lasted over 3 years with regular washing. I doubt any Zara sets can speak to that?)
Loved this article. I had just written about how I was lost getting dressed for motherhood, and then I read your piece!
